The chapters in this volume explore specific issues related to community college international education; they document outstanding programs and discuss strategies for strengthening internationalization efforts. Combined, these chapters confirm that it is critical to understand the variables that make internationalization an essential component of community colleges as well as the obstacles that prevent institutionalization from occurring. What emerges is a blueprint for our current generation of leaders to help develop new programs, establish leadership training, and secure institutional support.
