The Cambridge Latin Course is a well-established and highly successful program for learning Latin, structured in four Units. The first part of Unit 4 is set in and around the court of the Emperor Domitian. The stories explore the tensions and effects of living under tyranny. The second part of Unit 4 is an anthology of Latin prose and poetry (largely unadapted) including selections from Pliny, Cicero, Vergil, Ovid, Catullus, and Livy. The Omnibus Workbook complements the Student's Book, and provides a wide variety of stimulating and enjoyable activities designed to: promote the active use of grammatical points as they are introduced in the Student's Book; deepen understanding of Roman culture and history; raise students' level of general language awareness; highlight useful etymological links between Latin and English; and develop speaking and listening skills, as well as reading and writing skills.
