John Trentwood, an F.B.I. agent investigates a cult called C.A.A.L., which possesses advanced technology that can cause UFO's to appear in space. This is hologram-like technology. He ends up in a parallel planet called Dearth, similar yet different to Earth. On that planet instead of C.A.A.L. members there are Cult of the Flying Saucer (CFS) members. Another organization that could be considered parallel to the F.B.I. on that planet is called the British-American Inquisition League (B.A.I.L.), and they of course are trying to round up the members of the CFS. So, on that planet it is like a Spanish Inquisition in reverse in that most everybody is in some cult or other, except of course for the B.A.I.L. members. John goes to different planets in that parallel universe, one of which is called Agee where everyone ages rapidly. Later John becomes a member of the CFS, and to tell the truth, I can't tell much more about the book or I'll give the whole plot away.
