On August 18, 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified, granting women the right to vote. This accomplishment would not have been achieved without women's suffrage leaders like Susan B. Anthony, Lucy Stone, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Although they and many other women had to fight sexism and even violence, the Nineteenth Amendment served as their lasting legac
