Conversations are powerful. Across the country today hundreds of people will be in life or death situations, and the thing that will save their life will not be CPR, surgery or a water rescue. It will be a conversation: an exchange in which a person will decide whether or not to open up about their suicide plan, about what the voices are demanding they do, or about what is really going on in their life. It will be a conversation in which a person will decide whether they are going to risk engaging with mental health treatment today or ever again.
