"Why Me" is a true story about an eight year old girl who was born and raised in the city of Detroit. As a child she endured painful difficulties growing up. Her mother verbally abused her which played a major role in her inability to learn. Her mother's behavior towards her and the decisions her mother made stripped her of a normal childhood and damaged her future's path. There are many times when her thoughts would take her traveling back into her devastating, tearful, and frightening past. When she became a teenager she did not have a clue of what was important and what was not; what was wrong and what was right. She made so many mistakes growing up that it caused her to bare children at a very young age, live in poverty, experiment with drugs, sell drugs, and stand before a judge. Her mind was not equipped with the necessary knowledge to make the right decisions. Her mind deposited only negative events that took place during her upbringing. Those memories were stored tightly in its memory bank causing her to display verbal and physical aggressive behavior towards others. "Why Me" was written to help less fortunate teenagers understand that their past was out of their control and to encourage them to become determined individuals living a positive non-violent life-style. Many children grow up in a limited environment and are taught the wrong things or are taught things they should not know. Outside a limited environment holds an enormous amount of mental and physical help, knowledge, understanding, comfort, and much more. It depends solely on you and your determination, the kind of people you interact with, and the decisions you make for yourself.
