Dr. White completed his pre-med studies at Union College in his home town of Schenectady and graduated from Albany Medical College. He interned (internal medicine) at New York Medical College's Metropolitan and Flower Fifth Avenue Hospitals and completed his residency training at Greenwich Hospital Association in affiliation with Yale. He was in private practice in Southington, Connecticut. He has served as residency faculty and director of clinics at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, department chair and residency program director at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in Johnstown (Pennsylvania), program director and vice president quality at Pittsburgh's St. Francis Medical Center, senior vice president value and education and chief medical officer at UPMC McKeesport and vice president value and chief medical officer at Meritus Medical Center in Washington County (Maryland). Training at Crosby's Quality College and a Faculty Development Fellowship at Michigan State have significantly influenced his career. His work has been nurtured and inspired by the inventions and messages of many mentors and by the teaching/coaching of many regional and national organizations. He considers it his good fortune that his career positioned him to contemplate the synthesis of administrative, clinical, medical staff, graduate medical education and quality/safety concepts for the advancement of safe patient-centered care.
