Both stories in this book reflect a lifetime of friendship amid discord and death. While the characters tend to be a little rough around the edges, they manage to get to the core essence that is common to all of us. Fear, aging, and laughing in the face of it all lends these stories great poignancy and depth.About the Author: Lisa Theriault has written several (well, a few really) short stories that have not made her famous in any way at all. She tried writing a script about the Halifax Explosion but that didn't go anywhere. One time, the editor of an Australian magazine asked her to write horoscopes for free. Hopefully nobody took those seriously. Lisa tried a stint at non-fiction writing and has been published in various magazines including Canadian Gardening, What's Up Kids Magazine, Lifestyle Nova Scotia, and Commerce Magazine. Lisa's goal is to retire on a house boat in Vancouver with her partner and two dogs. She currently resides in small-town Nova Scotia, a place where everybody knows your name, your mother's name, your great-aunt's name and a myriad of other assorted personal details you'd rather they know nothing about. It's a fair guess that most of the population doesn't even know what "myriad" means.
