Larry the Lighthouse is the story of Larry, a young lighthouse, who enjoys coastal life and the attention he receives from those around him. But as he grows up, he wonders what he can do for his friends and sadly concludes there isn't much. Then one day a nor' Easter blows up and threatens Luigi the fisherman. Larry rises to the occasion not only saving his friend but also coming to value himself. It is a story of growth, discovery and interrelationships. Lighthouses and marine life catch the curiosity of children and inspire their imaginations. Children will delight in the illustrations of coastal life and the people who work and cruise there. They will be assured that there is value in simply being true to oneself.About the Author: +Fr. John & Presbytera Donna live in Maine and attend St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. +Fr. John worked in several boat yards and for the Boston Harbor Pilots while he was in Seminary preparing for the Holy Priesthood. He also spent many years as a structural designer for Navy destroyers and Modeler of a wide variety of commercial ships.
