Bassline is an anti-bullying workbook for parents, teachers, guidance counselors, young people, and community members. The express purpose is to provide information that take the imbalance of power from the bully. This workbook concept cuts across all forms of bullying in schools, the workplace, and it addresses the bullying that take place against women in abusive relationships.About the Author: Author/Grammy Nominated Songwriter/Diversity Presenter Blues & Music Historian Lamar Thomas was the founder of the Award-Winning, Cross-Cultural Program, known as, SCEAP. The SCEAP (Student Community Enrichment Activity Program) program was instituted by Lamar throughout the Pocono Mountain School District. Through his leadership and various programs students were involved in creating the Award-Winning film, BASSLINE, which was an original documentary type film that dealt with Bullying, Race, Domestic Violence, and other social issues that affect our young people. His new teaching, and speaking program is called, TTAB (Think Tank (against Bullying) The Power of Parents (against the Bully), and BASSLINE. Lamar's entire concept about combating bullying is that "we must all BULLY BACK against", with KNOWLEDGE. LAMAR THOMAS believes that Bullying is an "imbalance" of power, and that given the right information, and how to use that information, that we can: be proactive, and gain power over the bully. He does not believe that paying someone several thousand dollars to come to your school or to speak at your conferences and/or Workshops will give you any kind of absolute solutions, when the presenters leave your event. Lamar has elaborate Diversity and Leadership training from various educational institutions including Cornell University, The National Multi-Cultural Institute and the HumaNext System. Lamar Thomas presented the first-ever, County-Wide Diversity Conferences in Monroe County. These two events were held and hosted by East Stroudsburg University, and The Shawnee Inn, in Shawnee -On- Delaware. His BASSLINE Program has been presented in Harrisburg Pa. for the State Education Commission for then Attorney General (Tom Corbett). and his Anti-Bullying presentations, film and book, have been presented for the PSBA (Pennsylvania School Board Association), and also for the PSEA (Pennsylvania State Education Association. "I believe that young people and parents alike believe what I am saying when I tell them that they already have the Power 7 the knowledge that is required to gain power over the bullying. However, too few and so many do not use it"!
