Shade and Hurricane think they are just like all the other stray dogs and cats. But these two are about to find out they are very different. The chaotic hustling, bustling flow of New York City is nothing compared to the journey they are about to embark upon. When the dog and cat come upon a local abandoned house, they slip inside, out of the cold rain. There, they meet Everest, the dog who calls himself a Sighter. He tells Shade and Hurricane of the Dark Forces that threaten to engulf the earth in darkness. Everest tells them that they are the two chosen ones to fight off this darkness. To do so, they must find the elements Earth, Air, Water and Fire. The two heroes meet many obstacles along the way, and Shade gets in touch with his wolf side. Will they destroy the Dark Forces before it's too late?About the Author: Elyse Marie Redwine was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2001. From a very early age, she had an intense love of animals. Almost as soon as she could hold a pencil, she began drawing dogs, cats and horses on any piece of paper she could find. In her early elementary school years, she added short stories about animals to her artwork. It was in her fourth grade year that Elyse began to exhibit a true gift for creative writing. With encouragement from her teachers and family, she has continued to pursue that talent. "Destiny: Quest For The Four Elements" began as a submission for a short story contest at Elyse's local library entitled, "Destiny Earth: Volume I". She won the contest, but felt there was much more to the story and its characters, so she continued to write. She is currently in the 6th grade at Eisenhower Elementary School at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas where she has been an active member of the choir, band (French Horn), and Odyssey of the Mind (two-time Kansas State 1st Place Division One, two-time World Finals Team, Division One and 2011 Kansas State Team OMER Award). Elyse lives in Lansing, Kansas with her parents, Jim & Gina Redwine, her older brother, Nicholas, and Charlie, her Golden Retriever, who was her inspiration for this book.
