Frye learned an appreciation of poetry from his mother and a love of photography from his father. After receiving an undergraduate degree in physics and a master's degree in theology, he moved to the plains of western Nebraska. Later he earned a master's degree in journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His poems have appeared in "Simul: Lutheran Voices in Poetry," "Seminary Ridge Review," and "The Word in Season." He has written two research articles in philately that have appeared in "The Postal History Journal." He and Anne, his wife, live in Denton, Nebraska.
