Melody is a beautiful and quiet mixed girl of American and Chinese origin. She recently moves with her parents from Beijing, China to South Florida, USA. She knows how scary it is to walk into a classroom of unfamiliar faces, and how disappointing it is to not be allowed to play her favored "role" in the playground. However, two consistent forces remain in her life - the piano and her piano-obsessed "tiger mom". She studied British and American Literature and Linguistics at Nanjing University and journalism at the University of Hawaii.
