She alerts them to the warning signs, presents preventative measures, and uses original poetic verse to express the emotional ravages of the ensuing storm.About the Author: I am a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, poet and photographer ... I retired by choice in April of 2008 and I became a caregiver by love and default in 2012. My photography and poetry, while being therapeutic for me, offers a vehicle to share with and connect to others. It moves me away from the everyday escalator of activities and forces me to look at where I am, why I'm here, and where I'm going. I have found that sharing my story helps me heal. It puts my life into perspective, offers escape from the isolation of caregiving and moves me into the greater whole. It lets other caregivers know that they are not alone and opens up the discussion of how we can help each other.
