After his father finished getting his Master's degree in Theology, his family became a part of the military, who sent them to Germany. He began writing for a magazine at the local library in Schweinfurt, Germany called The Zeen during his high school years and found he had a talent and interest in it. After Germany, his family was sent to Belgium until his father retired from the Army and the family was sent to Augusta, Georgia, where they live today. While in Georgia, Trey began attending the Augusta campus of Georgia Military College, where he founded the GMC Writers and Illustrators Club (now the Creative Arts Club) in an effort to continue his craft. During his final year at GMC, Trey took a creative writing class that taught him how to write poetry. He immediately began sharpening his poetic skill and started a collection of poetry. Under the recommendation of Dr. Aman Kay, Trey decided to publish the poetry in this book.
