The earliest Pentecostal outpouring was on the Montanists of Phyrgia in the modern Turkey. The glossalalia and prophectic expression the the Three - Montanus and his two prophetess - was not received kindly by the Church and was rejected by the Church. They survived at least six centuries even after branding them as heresy. The Montanism came with greater force in the 19th and 20th century in three waves engulfing not only the evangelical but also the orthodox and the catholic in three waves. Observers have differing reactions to the resurgence. How do we explain these phenomena? Are they from God or from the Devil? How do we determine?
