It is about the daily transitions of life that we go through as women and going after your purpose and not shallow things that shift. This book is about learning who you are and who you were created to be. I open up about my own struggles and victories. I provide insight on many things, some of which include advice on courtship, waiting for a man of God, how to date with purpose and how I met, courted and married my husband in less than a year! This book will make you laugh, cry, jump, scream all at once. The book is written in a very simple format that is easy to read, however at times I use jargon that could be considered Christianese. Christianese is a word used to describe language that is most often employed in Christian communities. I know not whether you are reading this book as a follower of Jesus Christ. Therefore if the language is new to you, well you can "Google it." Other statements you may want to seek out a follower of Christ and ask questions. But more importantly, it will make you feel human, of value and teach you little things I have learned along the way to live well and to live well loved.About the Author: Mrs. La'Shay S. Crayton, MPH is a native of Oakland, California. She moved to NYC to pursue her master's degree in public health in 2013 at Columbia University. Shortly after graduating she met an emergency medical technician ((EMT) (her husband is also a fireman and captain of his firehouse) while she assisted a lady who fainted on a New York City subway train. La'Shay rode with the young lady who fainted and the EMT in the ambulance to the hospital. Little did La'Shay know, that her good Samaritan behavior would be the catalyst that sparked an unending love between herself and the EMT. Two months after getting to know each other the EMT called La'Shay's father and asked him permission to court her. Six months following, they were engaged, and three months following that they married. Vocationally, she is a trained social epidemiologist. As a research scientist, she investigates major mood and depressive disorders among African Americans in Harlem; under her Principal Investigator. She partners with churches to study the effects, facilitators, barriers and stigma around accessing mental health care. Her research and evidence-based practice interventions have led to increased care decreased stigma of mental illness in the Harlem community. She is also a counselor specializing in trauma and cognitive behavior therapy. Her desire to pursue a public health degree came while studying Nutrition and Food Science as well as the humanities at the University of Ghana (Ghana, Africa) and throughout West Africa where she lived for over a year. La'Shay is pursuing her second master's degree at Columbia University where she is strengthening her skills in psychotherapy. She is the CEO of Crayton Consulting LLC., Where she has received several projects totaling more than 21,500 dollars in less than a few years; under her private consulting firm and life coach agency. She also provides counseling in person and online (E-Counseling). Her long-term vision is to provide therapy at her private practice, conduct research as well as own and operate a café with her husband.
