Of the ten Upanishads considered to be more important than the others, this book carries two. They are the Brihadaranyaka and Chandogya Upanishads. Not only in content, in their size too, these two score over the other eight namely the Isha, Kena, Prasna, Kata, Mundaka, Mandukya, Taittariya, and Aitareya. The hymns are not only rendered into English, but followed by comments, though brief. The comments are meant to facilitate easier comprehension of the message of the hymn by the lay reader. This is a unique feature of this work that you do not find even in most of the other renderings considered to be excellent otherwise.
