How second-generation Sicilian immigrant meets a Vietnamese refugee with such different backgrounds and fall in love, cope with the stigma of blending races. The author details a timeline comparing events in Vietnam and the USA. The chapters are short stories of conflicts the characters experienced and their ways of coping.
