Mariah Carey, born on March 27th, 1969 or 1970, Huntington, New York, U.S., is a singer, songwriter, record producer, director and actress. Labeled the "Songbird Supreme" by the Guinness World Records, Mariah is known for her 5-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style, and signature use of the whistle register. She became famous during 1990 after signing to Columbia Records then issuing her eponymous debut album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 for 11 successive weeks. Shortly afterwards, Carey became the only artist ever to have their 1st 5 singles top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions".
