If you are not familiar with the Bible, some of the concepts may be difficult for you to understand at first. The author aims to write simply in order that even a child can understand.Many of these messages were first delivered in Japan where I served as a missionary and also in many other countries.About the Author: Blake Western served as a pastor for several years in Oklahoma before going to Japan as a missionary with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1966. After language school in the Tokyo area, he moved to the island of Hokkaido where he worked with churches and mission points and helped start new work. Since retiring in 2000 he continues to take short-term mission trips to different countries. For many years he has been teaching on the Preeminence of Christ and on Lifestyle Evangelism in Leadership Development Institutes held by Reaching Souls International. His first book, "There's No One Like Jesus," was published in 2014. That was followed by the publishing of "Astonished Beyond Measure," in 2017. The author sings in the choir of the First Baptist Church, Purcell, Oklahoma and serves as the organist. He enjoys music, good food, and likes to walk. Writing is a recent thing. The first book was published when the author was 79 years of age. The author has many opportunities to use music in his ministry. He began taking piano lessons when he was 7 years old. In Japan he sometimes gave mini-concerts in churches. Today he sometimes plays the piano for funerals and other events.
