In many respects their circumstances improve, but life is still full of sharp edges.About the Author: When Arlene Murray Adelkopf started writing short stories, many of them were about her mother's life and her own life growing up in Scotland. Arlene was born during the depression and spent the war years with her mother and siblings in Edinburgh while her father served in the British Army in Europe from 1940 until 1946. Finally giving up on the stagnant economy in Britain after the war, the family decided to immigrate to America in 1951 Some of Arlene's short stories have been published in two anthologies, "For Cryin' Out Loud," and "Voices of Parkland," which were produced by the Writers' Cafes she belongs to in Tamarac and Parkland, Florida. Many of her short stories became the basis for her book about her mother, Rona, A Life With Sharp Edges, which she wrote at the urging of her writing friends. Arlene now lives in Ft. Lauderdale with her husband, Allan.
