He was a Correctional Officer in Ontario, Canada, for nineteen years. He studied martial arts, earning black belts in karate, jujutsu, and aikijujutsu during a thirty-eight year career before injury stopped him. As a teenager, Stephen played pass in the band Ziska Road and on his sixtieth birthday, the band reformed for a week of playing. He still plays bass guitar in a band called Lancashire Pie. Stephen's passion has always been writing. Even as a child in Liverpool, he promised to write a book for his aunt Betty, he is currently working on his eighth book.
