In this publication, Victorine Grannum-Solomon presents, from the four corners of the African continent, a vast selection of over 1800 African names, their ethnicity, country of origin, pronunciations and meanings. Names are situated within the background of the naming culture among African people, and African naming ceremonies both in Africa and the diaspora. Further, in the Appendices, historical information like the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, names, and naming in a slave society, a listing of African countries, capitals, the approximate population of each country and a map of Africa is provided.
