When not writing, Darin enjoys several hobbies, including amateur astronomy and is an avid sci-fi fan. He is a current member of the Rio Rancho Astronomical Society and a former member of both the Ponchartrain Astronomical Society and the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society. Darin starting writing because in his own words, he got tired of waiting for the stories he wanted to read to be published. His favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy, but he also enjoys good mysteries and as well any story that features interesting characters. When not teaching or writing, Darin enjoys reading and watching science fiction, historical drama, history and science documentaries. He is an avid Law and Order and The Big Bang Theory fan.
