I Tried: Tales of an Emerging High School Feminist explores what it means to be a young feminist of color growing up in Central Oregon. It captures a young narrator teetering on the edges of adulthood, navigating the shifting expectations of her community, family, and self. With limited skills, Nori seeks out new ways to engage with the world. This book captures a multiracial, cis-female experience, and examines the challenges and isolation a multiracial girl faces in small-town America.
