Throughout this book Rebekah addresses her grief in a way that those experiencing loss of any kind can relate to. Rebekah is 28 years old and lives in the state of Connecticut. Aside from being a poet, Rebekah is a social justice advocate and strongly believes and advocates for Black equality and rights, she is a life long student, an advocate for LGBTQIA rights, a photographer, clothing maker, and graphic designer. She currently works as a case manager working with those who are incarcerated.
