I did not want to write under my own name as I want to keep my writing and teaching separate from each other (for now). I am not yet ready for my books to be talked about in school. M.G. Garland is a real person; she was my grandmother and was always there to give me words of wisdom when I was growing up. I can see her now, telling me to go for it, even if we fail we are still learning. My next book; which will be very different from this one will also be published in her name.
