'If a man by the terror of present death be compelled to do a fact against the law, he is totally excused; because no law can oblige a man to abandon his own preservation. . . .Nature compels him to the fact'- Hobbes., T., Leviathan (1985). In mans everyday life, there are threats that may prompt one to retaliate or defend themselves from such attacks. In the meantime, force may be used to avert or even overcome such threats. In the event of these situations, the aggressor may get injured or even eventually die and therefore leading to a court battle as to whether the accused actions were justified under the law.
