The shrine of the Black Madonna is on their way to Czestochowa. They make a pilgrimage stop with his caravan of servants to reduce their soul's time in purgatory. During this time Robert and Aleksja begin their love affair and swear eternal love to each other. Meanwhile, on the eastern side of the kingdom, Baron Josh Miller assisted by Pawel VI Andruszkowicz begins to re-establish Polish rule in Lwow. They find conditions greatly deteriorated and have years of rebuilding infrastructure, the rule of law, and goodwill among the inhabitants. In Krakow, the King gives the promised rewards to the 'Volunteers' from Scotland, England, France, Navarre, Italy, and Hungary. Only Renaldo Ryan Cabral decides to remain in Poland. Rolf Shiewe, who was not a volunteer asks to remain and is granted a position the King's Guard. The rest of the volunteers are escorted home by the following members of the Andruszkowicz family: Blanka, Krystof VI, Berenika, Stanislaw III, and Dominik VI. Captain Wilhelm Niemetz from the former Ebbing Guards and Lieutenant Lukasz Matejko from the Andruszkiewicz Guards were also assigned to this detail. There would be two escort groups, one by sea and the other by land. Lieutenant Lukasz Matejko, Stanislaw III, and Dominik VI would be the escorts by sea. Captain Wilhelm Niemetz, Krystof VI, Blanka, and Berenika II would take their group by land through Hungary, Italy, and France. These two groups will encounter continued resistance from their enemies and meet new friends, lovers, and death along the way. At home, the family will continue to come to their countries aide as the Teutonic Knights rise again in an attempt to regain their lost territories. More battles and loss of loved ones take place. The Grand Duke of Lithuania has a plan to strengthen his eastern boundaries from the Rus by bringing the Pomeranian Family into Lithuania and settle in Vitebsk. A formidable land grant and a royal title are offered to them. Wiktor, the Patriarch of this clan refuses. He has waited all of his life to live in Poland. Now that his dream is realized, he will not leave it, ever. He passes the appointment to his younger brother. Stanislaw III accepts and will bring his wife Katia to this new region. They will be assisted by a company of Women Warriors to act as police and to recruit and train local men and women, from all levels of social standing, a new force. New ideas, concepts, and laws will be introduced. Rabbis with their training in law are sent from Poland to assist in this reformation. Old ways, methods, and prejudices will, hopefully, be removed from these people's way of life. A new city will be established and called Andrusowo. The king will eventually pass on and his eldest son, Wladyslaw III, will take the crown at the age of 10. He is young, ambitious, and eager to prove his valor on the battlefield. He tours the country with a full regiment of Royal Guards when he arrives in Lwow he is greatly pleased with the improvements made over the past 18 years. He will make an eternal friendship with Pawel VII Andruszkowicz that will alter his life forever. He will be succeeded by Kazimierz IV, who will bestow more honors on the 'family'. The century will pass in relative peace as the last members of the Jagiellonian Dynasty rule and the Andruszkiewicz family will rise in two nations and into the next century.
