Domestic and political abuse are ripe in our generation. This world is hurting badly and churches are no better. The abuse creates great bitterness in our hearts leading to depression and other mental illnesses. We often blame God. How can a good, powerful God remain quiet in the midst of wickedness? The teachings of Christianity point to a life of freedom, joy, peace and love. Yet, Christians in general seem to be far from satisfied with their lives. Research shows that the religious dimension of life is nicely correlated to human strength, meaning, and coping. Understanding God's infinite love and goodness will transform how abused religious individuals strategically learn to wait on God while taking the actions that will free them from oppression. This book addresses real issues we face (depression, anxiety, love, fear and more) and how God intends for us to live in His love. Without truth and the right knowledge of God, His Word or His love, we will be unable to cope with the harshness that life throws at us. I have painstakingly extracted verses from the Bible that are the Lord's response to the sadness in the world. He desires love, freedom and life satisfaction for us all right here on earth irrespective of religious background.This book is a call-to-action: for faithful Christians to avoid losing their zeal for righteousness or avoid bitterness and weariness; for backsliding Christians to return to the right path today even as the prodigal son returned and was happily received; for discouraged Christians to be encouraged in knowing that God sees them exactly where they are; and for those looking to know Christ to see Him from the right perspective. This book provides unadulterated truth spoken in love. Love rejoices in truth and not iniquity as 1 Corinthians 13 says. Because several people find prayer to be daunting, I have included prayers at the end of each chapter as a guide directly connected to the issues of the chapter. I appeal to the readers to modify the prayers appropriately to suit their specific situations. Trust that if I can pray to a God who loves to listen, you can too.
