Eliza finds herself surrounded by her angel network, that always seems to know when she needs their help, or they need hers! When a German family in a VW E-bus rescues her from being stranded on the autobahn, Eliza is grateful until they turn out to be thieves and kidnappers! Her German angel, Rosemarie, makes use of a pocket of time to transport Eliza to Limburg to testify at their trial, An ever-vigilant Rosemarie then saves the family's teenage daughter Elena from her father's physical abuse, whisking her away in another pocket of time to Eliza and Jon's retirement community in Pennsylvania until after the Limburg court appeal. Her Tunisian angel Bashir suddenly shows up on Eliza and Jon's doorstep, bringing Eliza's asylum-seeking former colleague Ridha and his wife Raisa. They will only be safe for the time being, however, from their Tunisian dictator President Saied's cruel retribution against protesters. Heaving a sigh of relief for now, Eliza begins to wonder how many others of her past or present friends are actually what the bible calls "angels unawares."
