My dark classroom was usually a bug-infested storage closet under the stairwell or an unheated supply room. The faculty preferred segregating me from the normal classroom, as I was viewed as a distraction that might hinder the studies of other students. Year after year, a list of specialists voiced the hopeless, unanimous diagnosis, "She'll be totally blind before she is 21 and she needs to be institutionalized." Then I met Dr. Albert Sutton, who assured I could realize my dream of obtaining a driver's license by training my eyes to see. After working with his pioneering concept of neurological therapy, I became one of many successful cases where people with legal blindness could now drive a car.About the Author: My love of writing was ignited at the age of four, when I used to accompany my Grandfather to his study at the church. He was a minister and wrote his own sermons and poetry. He taught me how to set the type, paint the ink and crank his hand rolled printing press. His spiritual poetry inspired me to write poetry, articles and short stories. For several years, I have collected research and toiled over two separate books, each one distinctively different from the other. I define my blindness as a challenge and vision as an endless possibility. I breed and train service dogs and horses. I have buried husbands, raised children as a single parent and recently retired after 20 years with the State of Nevada, advocating for people with disabilities. Now I have the time to dedicate to my writing. My first book, The Key, is a collection of stories involving documented case histories of people with different disabilities. My personal story is just one example of the life-altering therapy applied by Dr. Albert A. Sutton. Utilizing years of research and his pioneering concepts of whole mind/body and neurological development, this doctor rescued individuals previously written off by society. Patients saved from institutionalizing and segregation, successfully recovered to become self-empowered professionals and productive pillars of society. "The Key" to his phenomenal success is simple and has been available for over 60 years. To date, the medical society refuses to acknowledge or practice the cure in place of failing, archaic treatments? When you read this book you will ask, "Why?"
